CUBE PACKINGS IN EUCLIDEAN SPACES [PDF]
In this paper we study some cube packing problems. In particular we are interested in compact subsets of $\mathbb{R}^n,n\geq 2$, which contain boundaries of cubes with all side lengths in $(0,1)$. We show here that such sets must have lower box dimension at least $n-0.5$ and we will also provide sharp examples.

Abstract Purpose This study evaluates the dosimetric and geometric precision of a virtual cone technique using CBCT‐based polymer gel dosimetry, enabling radiation delivery, and imaging readout within an identical spatial coordinate system. Methods We created a C# script for a virtual cone technique that generates a treatment plan with 10 gantry arcs ...

On Euclidean designs and the potential energy [PDF]
We study Euclidean designs from the viewpoint of the potential energy. For a finite set in Euclidean space, We formulate a linear programming bound for the potential energy by applying harmonic analysis on a sphere.

Face video retrieval with image query via hashing across Euclidean space and Riemannian manifold
Retrieving videos of a specific person given his/her face image as query becomes more and more appealing for applications like smart movie fast-forwards and suspect searching.

A characterization of the Euclidean space
AbstractWe characterize the Euclidean space ℓn2 among n-dimensional normed spaces by means of the behavior of the operators I−P−PT, where P is a projection.

Smoothness of sets in Euclidean spaces [PDF]
We study some properties of smooth sets in the sense defined by Hungerford. We prove a sharp form of Hungerford's Theorem on the Hausdorff dimension of their boundaries on Euclidean spaces and show the invariance of the definition under a class of automorphisms of the ambient space.

Abstract Purpose Volumetric‐modulated arc therapy (VMAT) treatment planning allows a compromise between a sufficient coverage of the planning target volume (PTV) and a simultaneous sparing of organs‐at‐risk (OARs). Particularly in the case of lung tumors, deciding whether it is possible or worth spending more time on further improvements of a treatment

The moduli space of hex spheres
A hex sphere is a singular Euclidean sphere with four cone points whose cone angles are (integer) multiples of $\frac{2\pi}{3}$ but less than $2\pi$.

Invariant connections on Euclidean space
: We recall and solve the equivalence problem for a flat C connection ∇ in Euclidean space, with methods from the theory of differential equations. The problem consists in finding an affine transformation of R^n taking ∇ to the so called trivial connection ...

Generalized open sets of Minkowski space [PDF]
We consider the Euclidean topology and s-topology on n-dimensional Minkowski space and investigate the interior and closure of the space cone and perforated space cone with respect to these topologies.
