Neurogastroenterol MotilDietitian‐delivered education on a FODMAP diet in patients with IBS showed overall satisfactory relief of symptoms, self‐empowerment in dealing with periods of greater symptoms, and minimal restriction of FODMAPs at an average 7 years' follow‐up. Only the few who continued restriction of all FODMAPs had poor food‐related quality of life.
