Semantic Web, 2013Europeana is a single access point to millions of books, paintings, films, museum objects and archival records that have been digitized throughout Europe. The data.europeana.eu Linked Open Data pilot dataset contains open metadata on approximately 2.4 million texts, images, videos and sounds gathered by Europeana.

eCultureMap – Link to Europeana Knowledge
2014eCultureMap is a geographical knowledge map connecting and visualizing digital cultural objects. eCultureMap is an interactive online map and has been developed in the EU project Carare: Connecting Archaeology and Architecture in Europeana. Reflecting on the Europeana Data Model
2013We describe some issues arising while using Europeana, and analyze some features of the Europeana Data Model (EDM), starting from the rationale of the project. Some aspects of the theoretical model, derived mostly from the mapping between the provided Cultural Heritage Object (CHO) and the EDM, prevent useful results in users’ queries.
