Optimal allocation of antenatal and young child nutrition interventions: an individual-based global burden of disease calibrated microsimulation

open access: yesBMC Global and Public Health
Background Undernutrition remains a global crisis and is a focus of Sustainable Development Goals. While there are multiple known, effective interventions, complex interactions between prevention and treatment and resource constraints can lead to ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Recombinant zoster vaccine is associated with a reduced risk of dementia

open access: yesNature Communications
Vaccines to prevent herpes zoster have been associated with reduced dementia risk. We conducted a retrospective matched cohort study of Kaiser Permanente Southern California members aged ≥65 years who received two doses of RZV 4 weeks–6 months apart ...

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Interchangeability of glibenclamide-containing drugs

open access: yesРегуляторные исследования и экспертиза лекарственных средств, 2018
The article analyses the problem of interchangeability of glibenclamide-containing drugs that sometimes lack therapeutic equivalence even though their bioequivalence has been proven.
