Future changes in precipitation over Central Asia based on CMIP6 projections

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters, 2020
A stronger than global mean warming trend is projected over Central Asia in the coming century. Based on the historical simulations and projections under four combined scenarios of the Shared Socioeconomic Pathways and the Representative Concentration ...

A Novel Approach on Rapid Alloy Development of Tool Steels for Laser Powder Bed Fusion by In Situ Alloying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A novel approach for alloy development in laser powder bed fusion is introduced. Instead of producing massive samples of one composition at a time, prepressed powder bed samples produced from powder mixtures are processed. Guidelines for the selection of precursor powders are developed.

Nanoparticle‐Coated X2CrNiMo17‐12‐2 Powder for Additive Manufacturing – Part I: Surface, Flowability, and Optical Properties of SiC, Si, and Si3N4 Coated Metal Powders

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Herein, silicon‐based nanoparticle coatings on X2CrNiMo17‐12‐2 metal powder are presented. The coating process scale, process parameters, nanoparticle size (65–200 nm) as well as the coating amount are discussed regarding powder properties. The surface roughness affects the flowability, while reflectance depends on the coating material and surface ...

Non-selective Evaporation of Ethanol-Water Binary Mixture within Heated Capillary [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
In the study, the evaporation of ethanol-water binary mixture within heated capillary is experimentally and numerically investigated. It was found that the ratio of the evaporation rates of ethanol and water equals the ratio of their initial concentrations in the mixture. This observation contradicts the commonly accepted view of selective evaporation,

Analysis of quantum evaporation process of black holes in the model of Expansive Nondecelerative Universe [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2000
In the model of Expansive Nondecelerative Universe, black hole cannot totally evaporate via quantum evaporation process proposed by Hawking. In a limiting case, an equilibrium of gravitation creation and black hole evaporation can be reached keeping the surface of its horizon constant.

Influence of a Hydrogen Addition to the Inert Gas and Subsequent Heat Treatments on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Magnesium WE43 Fabricated by PBF‐LB/M

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article investigates optimal processing conditions for the laser‐based powder bed fusion of WE43. To limit the interaction with remaining oxygen, a 3 vol% hydrogen admixture to the inert gas is investigated. Furthermore, heat treatments are investigated in the range of 250–350 °C for 48 h.

Sorption and thermal properties of rice, potato starch, and oat flakes

open access: yesCzech Journal of Food Sciences, 2008
A precise design of the equipment for thermal sterilisation of rice, potato starch, and oat flakes by dry heat requires the knowledge of the relevant values of physical properties of these products.
