The inactivation of SLC35C1 (GDP‐fucose transporter) and enzymes involved in GDP‐fucose biosynthesis was studied. Fucose supplementation increases the level of GDP‐fucose to abnormal, millimolar values in the absence of the TSTA3 protein and SLC35C1 in contrast to the GMDS/SLC35C1 double mutant.

Soluto-thermo-hydrodynamics influenced evaporation of sessile droplets [PDF]
The present article experimentally and theoretically probes the evaporation kinetics of sessile saline droplets. Observations reveal that presence of solvated ions leads to modulated evaporation kinetics, which is further a function of surface wettability.

Airborne Ouzo: Evaporation-induced emulsification and phase separation dynamics of ternary droplets in acoustic levitation [PDF]
We experimentally investigated the evaporation dynamics of acoustically levitated Ouzo droplets (a mixture of ethanol, water, and anise oil). Acoustic levitation has gained significant attention in various fields due to its potential to create a lab-in-a-drop.

Performance Triggered Adaptive Model Reduction for Soil Moisture Estimation in Precision Irrigation
ABSTRACT Accurate soil moisture information is essential for precise irrigation to enhance water use efficiency. Estimating soil moisture based on limited soil moisture sensors is especially critical for obtaining comprehensive soil moisture information when dealing with large‐scale agricultural fields.

Water footprint of the Sobradinho hydropower plant, Northeastern Brazil
Hydroelectricity is responsible for the greatest fraction of the electric energy generated in Brazil. The water footprint of hydropower plants (WFP) is an important indicator of the sustainable and efficient use of water resources.

Evaporation Modeling of Water Droplets in a Transonic Compressor Cascade Under Fogging Conditions
High-fogging is widely used to rapidly increase the power outputs of stationary gas turbines. Therefore, water droplets are injected into the inflow air, and a considerable number enter the compressor.

Using supramolecular monomers, various hydrogel culture systems were formulated to culture protoplasts; including 2D, 2.5D, and 3D hydrogels. Depending on the culture platform, bioactive functionalization led to protoplast enlargement (2D and 2.5D) or plasmolysis (3D). This work shows the potential to modularly engineer synthetic platforms for cellular

Reexamination of evaporation from horizontal surfaces with implications for solar interfacial evaporation experiments [PDF]
To explain reported solar interfacial-evaporation rates from porous materials beyond an apparent 100% efficiency using the thermal evaporation mechanism, many publications hypothesize that intermediate water inside porous materials have a reduced latent heat.
