Human Lacrimal Production Rate and Wetted Length of Modified Schirmer's Tear Test Strips. [PDF]
PurposeTo assess and compare the wetting kinetics of sheathed and unsheathed Schirmer's tear test (STT) strips, and to determine the repeatability of 5-minute wetted length (WL) and basal tear production rate (BTPR).MethodsSeventeen subjects underwent ...

In this study, we report a resistive‐type strain sensor fabricated using single‐walled CNTs, are used layer using the pray technique to deposit as conductive, and UV‐resin was spin‐coated as a protection layer. The sensor functioned in harsh temperature variation conditions from −50°C to 125°C without deterioration.

The Immunological Basis of Dry Eye Disease and Current Topical Treatment Options. [PDF]
Homeostasis of the lacrimal functional unit is needed to ensure a well-regulated ocular immune response comprising innate and adaptive phases. When the ocular immune system is excessively stimulated and/or immunoregulatory mechanisms are disrupted, the ...

Functional surfaces are investigated as a foundation for reconfigurable microscale systems with sensing and actuation capabilities. Advances in additive manufacturing enable our development of planar arrays of hybrid‐material, compliant microdevices that convert environmental stimuli into programmed motion and visual responses.

Repeatability of Meibomian Gland Contrast, a Potential Indicator of Meibomian Gland Function. [PDF]
PurposeMeibomian gland contrast may be a potential indicator of gland health, especially among isotretinoin users. We aimed to develop a repeatable and reliable method for measuring Meibomian gland contrast from meibography images.MethodsLower lid (LL ...

Cell‐sized high‐frequency ultrasound using a lithium niobate transducer, previously ignored in reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, generated intracellular ROS at frequencies higher than conventionally used. The intracellular generation of ROS by cell‐sized high‐frequency ultrasound revealed in this study is expected to be applied to innovative ...

Paraventricular CRF neurons in the hypothalamus project to glutamatergic neurons of the spinal trigeminal caudal nucleus, enhancing neuronal activation and CRFR2 signaling. This pathway increases CRF release and excitatory drive, promoting central sensitization and migraine‐related behaviors. Targeting the PVN–SP5C circuit provides a potential strategy
