T‐ESVO: Improved Event‐Based Stereo Visual Odometry via Adaptive Time‐Surface and Truncated Signed Distance Function

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, 2023
The emerging event cameras have the potential to be an excellent complement for standard cameras within various visual tasks, especially in illumination‐changing environments or situations requiring high‐temporal resolution. Herein, an event‐based stereo

Video to Events: Recycling Video Datasets for Event Cameras [PDF]

open access: yes2020 IEEE/CVF Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR), 2020
Event cameras are novel sensors that output brightness changes in the form of a stream of asynchronous "events" instead of intensity frames. They offer significant advantages with respect to conventional cameras: high dynamic range (HDR), high temporal resolution, and no motion blur.

High Speed Event Camera TRacking

open access: yesCoRR, 2020
Event cameras are bioinspired sensors with reaction times in the order of microseconds. This property makes them appealing for use in highly-dynamic computer vision applications. In this work, we explore the limits of this sensing technology and present an ultra-fast tracking algorithm able to estimate six-degree-of-freedom motion with dynamics over 25.

Distributed Collaborative Camera Actuation Scheme Based on Sensing-Region Management for Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2012
Considering the high energy consumption of image acquisition, computation, and transmission in wireless multimedia sensor networks (WMSNs), two-tier network structure is usually used to lighten the energy consumption burden on camera sensors.

Generalized Event Cameras

open access: yes2024 IEEE/CVF Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR)
Event cameras capture the world at high time resolution and with minimal bandwidth requirements. However, event streams, which only encode changes in brightness, do not contain sufficient scene information to support a wide variety of downstream tasks.

Compressive event camera

open access: yesOptics Express
In this paper, we present a method for reconstructing video from event data alone captured by an event camera. We employ point-spread-function engineering in the imaging optics to compress spatiotemporal information into each event. Dynamic scenes are reconstructed solely from the sparse, signed-polarity event data using a compressive sensing algorithm.

Event Stream Denoising Method Based on Spatio-Temporal Density and Time Sequence Analysis

open access: yesSensors
An event camera is a neuromimetic sensor inspired by the human retinal imaging principle, which has the advantages of high dynamic range, high temporal resolution, and low power consumption.

Low-Complexity Lossless Coding of Asynchronous Event Sequences for Low-Power Chip Integration

open access: yesSensors, 2022
The event sensor provides high temporal resolution and generates large amounts of raw event data. Efficient low-complexity coding solutions are required for integration into low-power event-processing chips with limited memory.
