Accident risk prediction of large crude oil tank area based on improved SHIPP model

open access: yesYou-qi chuyun, 2020
Abnormal events involving hidden dangers, near misses and non-casualty accidents are the early warning and signs of serious accidents.Considering the high frequency of such incidents, the accident model was established to identify and correct unsafe ...

Chilean artisanal mining: a gambling scenario

open access: yesREM: International Engineering Journal, 2020
One of the most characteristic aspects of artisanal mining is the lack of geological exploration. Going into production without previous exploration is here defined as a gambling scenario.

Event Trees and Epistemic Uncertainty in Long‐Term Volcanic Hazard Assessment of Rift Volcanoes: The Example of Aluto (Central Ethiopia)

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, 2020
Aluto is a peralkaline rhyolitic caldera located in a highly populated area in central Ethiopia. Its postcaldera eruptive activity has mainly consisted of self‐similar, pumice‐cone‐building eruptions of varying size and vent location. These eruptions are

A Nice Labelling for Tree-Like Event Structures of Degree 3 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We address the problem of finding nice labellings for event structures of degree 3. We develop a minimum theory by which we prove that the labelling number of an event structure of degree 3 is bounded by a linear function of the height.

GenEvA (II): A phase space generator from a reweighted parton shower [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We introduce a new efficient algorithm for phase space generation. A parton shower is used to distribute events across all of multiplicity, flavor, and phase space, and these events can then be reweighted to any desired analytic distribution.

Event-based graphical monitoring in the EpochX genetic programming framework [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
EpochX is a genetic programming framework with provision for event management – similar to the Java event model – allowing the notification of particular actions during the lifecycle of the evolutionary algorithm. It also provides a flexible Stats system

Modeling risks in real estate development projects: a case for Egypt

open access: yesInternational Journal of Strategic Property Management, 2018
Risk analysis is a vital step in the succession of construction projects. However, no adequate researches have been conducted to assess, and quantify risk events in real estate projects in developing countries, and particularly in Egypt. This research ...

Reconstruction of time-consistent species trees

open access: yesAlgorithms for Molecular Biology, 2020
Background The history of gene families—which are equivalent to event-labeled gene trees—can to some extent be reconstructed from empirically estimated evolutionary event-relations containing pairs of orthologous, paralogous or xenologous genes.

Child-Sum EATree-LSTMs: enhanced attentive Child-Sum Tree-LSTMs for biomedical event extraction

open access: yesBMC Bioinformatics, 2023
Background Tree-structured neural networks have shown promise in extracting lexical representations of sentence syntactic structures, particularly in the detection of event triggers using recursive neural networks.
