Targeting the EpCAM‐AXL axis to overcome drug resistance in lung cancer
Lung cancer cells often evade therapy by hijacking signaling pathways. We reveal that cleaved EpCAM (sEpCAM) stabilizes the oncogenic protein AXL, driving NF‐κB and STAT3‐mediated chemoresistance. This EpCAM‐AXL axis identifies a high‐risk patient subset with poor prognosis.

Reprogramming tumor cells with LCOR mRNA nanotherapy to enhance immunotherapy
LCOR (Ligand‐dependent corepressor) mRNA encapsulated in polymeric nanoparticles restores LCOR activity in tumor cells, constraining aggressive tumor cell states and increasing tumor immunogenicity. This reprogramming makes tumor cells more vulnerable to T‐cell attack and enhances their response to immune‐checkpoint immunotherapy.

The multifaceted roles of lysosomes in cancer
Lysosomes support cancer cell adaptation by integrating macromolecule degradation and nutrient recycling with nutrient sensing, inter‐organelle communication and immune regulation. These interconnected functions can promote tumour growth, stress tolerance and therapy resistance, while also creating context‐dependent vulnerabilities that may be ...

Re-evaluating heterogeneity in evidence synthesis
Evidence Synthesis, in the form of systematic review and meta-analysis, has seen an enormous increase in recent years, across many different scientific disciplines. However, philosophers have paid comparatively little attention to evidence synthesis, while the majority of analyses are predominantly negative and focus primarily on the use of meta ...

A Best evidence synthesis on the link between budgetary participation and managerial performance [PDF]
By using the best evidence synthesis (Slavin, 1995), we want to find out an accurate synthesis on the budgetary participation -BP- and managerial performance-PM- link. The use of criteria of selection has allowed to decrease the heterogeneity.

USP7 inhibits FOXO1 activity in chronic lymphocytic leukaemia cells enhancing cell survival
CLL cells rely on BCR‐mediated signalling for survival and proliferation in part through suppression of FOXO1. FOXO1 activity is regulated by a plethora of post‐translational modifications including phosphorylation and ubiquitination. We demonstrated that dual inhibition of BCR signalling and the deubiquitinase USP7 activates FOXO1, modulating its ...

Tumour‐proximal deep serum proteomics identifies biomarkers associated with ovarian cancer
New biomarkers are needed for early ovarian cancer detection. Ovarian (tumour‐proximal) and peripheral vein serum from healthy women and patients with benign or malignant tumours underwent nanoparticle‐enriched deep proteomics. Ovarian serum yielded more protein identifications and revealed tumour‐reflective signatures.

Local evidence synthesis on teacher learning
"The current Local Evidence Synthesis (LES) on Teacher Learning (TL) builds upon the previous LES published in 2018 (Tan & Chong, 2018). This iteration of the TL LES consolidates significant findings and insights from local research stemming from the ...
