Status epilepticus: Updates on mechanisms and treatments
Abstract Status epilepticus (SE) consists of prolonged, self‐sustaining seizures and is a common neurological emergency that causes respiratory compromise and neuronal injury. Without prompt treatment, the seizures can become resistant to benzodiazepines, leading to the progressive evolution of established, refractory, and super‐refractory SE.

Abstract Objective Individuals with Down syndrome (DS) face an ultra‐high risk of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Within this continuum, Progressive Myoclonus Epilepsy (PME) has emerged as a marker of advanced neurodegeneration. Building on our 2014 characterization of this syndrome, we aimed to define its long‐term natural history and pathological substrate.

Low-Frequency Local Field Potentials and Spikes in Primary Visual Cortex Convey Independent Visual Information [PDF]
Local field potentials (LFPs) reflect subthreshold integrative processes that complement spike train measures. However, little is yet known about the differences between how LFPs and spikes encode rich naturalistic sensory stimuli.

Somatosensory Disturbance and Long‐Term Exposure to Methylmercury: A Comprehensive Review
ABSTRACT Chronic exposure to methylmercury remains a significant public health concern, particularly in populations with high fish consumption. Somatosensory disturbances are among the most frequently reported neurological manifestations, even at exposure levels below internationally established safety thresholds. This review aims to synthesize current
