Evolutionary Game Theory Perspective on Dynamic Spectrum Access Etiquette
In this paper, we describe the long-term evolution of societies of secondary users in dynamic spectrum access networks. Such an understanding is important to help us anticipate future trends in the organization of large-scale distributed networked ...

Tracer spectrum: a visualisation method for distributed evolutionary computation [PDF]
We present a novel visualisation method for island-based evolutionary algorithms based on the concept of tracers as adopted in medicine and molecular biology to follow a biochemical process. For example, a radioisotope or dye can be used to replace a stable component of a biological compound, and the signal from the radioisotope can be monitored as it ...

Hydration index and hydrated constitutive model of clay shale using acoustic frequency spectrum
Clay shale is frequently encountered in drilling. With strong hydration capacity, when clay shale contacts with drilling fluid, rock structural and mechanical property will be affected, causing wellbore instability.

Constraints on evolutionary properties of GHz Peaked Spectrum galaxies [PDF]
We have used the available samples of Gigahertz Peaked Spectrum (GPS) galaxies to investigate their evolution properties in the framework of the ``youth'' scenario. Care was taken to properly allow for the different selection criteria used to define the samples.

Whether and when to share: Spectrum sensing as an evolutionary game [PDF]
Cooperative spectrum sensing is an efficient sensing scheme for cognitive radio networks (CRNs), in which secondary users (SUs) share sensing results with other SUs to improve the overall sensing performance. For a single SU, if the sensing results are shared early, there is more time for data transmission, which improves the throughput.

Factors shaping the abundance and diversity of the gut archaeome across the animal kingdom
Here, by analyzing 250 species of animals covering a large taxonomic spectrum, the authors show that archaea are common constituent of the animal gut throughout the animal kingdom, and identify six main genera/families of gut archaea revealing their ...
