Changing-Look AGNs or Short-Lived Radio Sources?

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2017
The evolution of extragalactic radio sources has been a fundamental problem in the study of active galactic nuclei for many years. A standard evolutionary model has been created based on observations of a wide range of radio sources.

Multi-Objective Quantum Inspired Evolutionary SLM Scheme for PAPR Reduction in Multi-Carrier Modulation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
As an efficient wireless transmission technology, multi-carrier communication find its way in many applications. However, high peak to average power ratio (PAPR) of the signal degrades the system performance.

A conservation planning strategy applied to the evolutionary history of the mantellid frogs of Madagascar

open access: yesnpj Biodiversity, 2023
Phylogenetic diversity is an increasingly applied metric used to maximize the representation of evolutionary history in spatial conservation planning. When following this approach, researchers commonly overlook sites with a relatively higher proportion ...

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Assessment of Optimization Methods for Aeroacoustic Prediction of Trailing-Edge Interaction Noise in Axisymmetric Jets

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
Our concern in this paper is in the fine-tuning of the arbitrary parameters within the upstream turbulence structure for the acoustic spectrum of a rapid-distortion theory (RDT)-based model of trailing-edge noise.

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

INSTANTANEOUS FREQUENCY ESTIMATION USING A LEAST SQUARES TIME-FREQUENCY METHOD

open access: yesElectrica, 2004
We present a method for estimating the instantaneous frequency of a signal. This method involves the calculation of a time-frequency energy density of the signal, then obtaining an instantaneous frequency estimation from this joint density.
