Cognitive radio spectrum allocation using evolutionary algorithms

IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2009
Cognitive radio has been regarded as a promising technology to improve spectrum utilization significantly. In this letter, spectrum allocation model is presented firstly, and then spectrum allocation methods based on genetic algorithm (GA), quantum genetic algorithm (QGA), and particle swarm optimization (PSO), are proposed.

The Evolutionary Etiologies of Autism Spectrum and Psychotic Affective Spectrum Disorders

2016
Risks of human psychiatric conditions have evolved, and their symptoms represent perturbations to adaptive cognitive and affective systems. Evolutionary considerations are useful in this context because they direct us to the identification of specific human adaptations that become dysregulated in disease, though either underdevelopment or ...

Evolutionary power spectrum density of earthquake-induced rail geometric irregularities

Structure and Infrastructure Engineering, 2022
China’s high-speed railway (HSR) construction has gradually extended to earthquake-vulnerable areas in recent years. However, there is currently a lack of studies on the characteristics of earthquake-induced rail irregularities, making it impossible to ...

A Reinforcement Learning based evolutionary multi-objective optimization algorithm for spectrum allocation in Cognitive Radio networks

Physical Communication, 2020
To cope up with drastically increasing demand for radio resources lead to raise a challenge to the wireless community. The limited radio spectrum and fixed spectrum allocation strategy have become a bottleneck for various wireless communication ...

Characterizing rockbursts and analysis on frequency-spectrum evolutionary law of rockburst precursor based on microseismic monitoring

, 2020
The access tunnel in the main powerhouse of the Shuangjiangkou hydropower station in China has complex geological conditions with high in-situ stress. Rockbursts pose serious threats to the safety of personnel and equipment in the tunnel.

Evolutionary radiation and the spectrum of consciousness

Consciousness and Cognition, 2009
Evolution is littered with polyphyletic parallelism: many roads lead to functional Romes. We propose consciousness embodies one such example, and represent it here with an equivalence class structure that factors the broad realm of necessary conditions information theoretic realizations of Baars' global workspace model.

Simulation of nonhomogeneous fluctuating wind speed field in two-spatial dimensions via an evolutionary wavenumber-frequency joint power spectrum

Journal of Wind Engineering and Industrial Aerodynamics, 2018
Spectral representation method (SRM) is a widely-used tool for the simulation of fluctuating wind speed fields. To circumvent the computational challenges of the Cholesky decomposition involved in the spectral representation method, a wavenumber ...
