Cost-optimized replacement strategies for water electrolysis systems affected by degradation

open access: yesEnergy Conversion and Management: X
A key factor in reducing the cost of green hydrogen production projects using water electrolysis systems is to minimize the degradation of the electrolyzer stacks, as this impacts the lifetime of the stacks and therefore the frequency of their ...

Management of fetal dystocia caused by carpal flexion in ewe: A case report

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Veterinary and Animal Research, 2015
Dystocia or difficulty in parturition in a ewe may need veterinary assistance for the successful parturition. An adult ewe weighing 30 kg was presented to the Hospital of Veterinary Medicine, Universiti Putra Malaysia with the history of difficulty in ...

Identification of risk factors for ewe mortality during the pregnancy and lambing period in extensively managed flocks

open access: yesBMC Veterinary Research, 2023
Background Ewe mortality during pregnancy and lambing is an issue for sheep producers globally, resulting in reduced productivity and profitability, compromised ewe welfare, and poor consumer perception.

Planning urban energy systems adapting to extreme weather

open access: yesAdvances in Applied Energy, 2021
In the context of increasing urbanization and climate change globally, urban energy systems (UES) planning needs adequate consideration of climate change, particularly to ensure energy supply during extreme weather events (EWE) such as heatwaves, floods,

Electrolyte‐Dependent Sodium Plating for Anode‐Free Na‐Ion Batteries Studied by Operando Optical Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Anode‐free sodium‐ion batteries are examined using carbonate‐, glyme‐, and localized high‐concentration electrolytes. Distinct sodium plating morphologies are identified by operando optical microscopy, revealing uniform crystalline deposition for glyme‐based systems.

The effect of maternal nutrition during mid- to late- pregnancy on ewe and lamb behaviour and the association with lamb survival : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Animal Science at Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Lambing percentage in New Zealand has increased by almost 30% in the last 20 years. This increase is associated with a greater percentage of twin- and triplet-born lambs which have lower survival rates than singletons.

In Situ Measurement of Oxygen Vacancy Dynamics and Surface Exchange Reactions in Oxide Electrode under Solid Electrochemical Cell Operating Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This study establishes an in situ electrochemical framework using dense bulk electrodes to identify defect chemistry and surface kinetics. While oxygen vacancy concentration is derived via bias modulation, surface exchange coefficients are quantified at open circuit voltage conditions to isolate kinetics.

Selection for superior growth advances the onset of puberty and increases reproductive performance in ewe lambs.

open access: yesAnimal, 2013
The reproductive efficiency of the entire sheep flock could be improved if ewe lambs go through puberty early and produce their first lamb at 1 year of age.
