Genome-wide identification of the ABCB gene family in melon (Cucumis melo L.) and their expression during axillary bud development

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science
IntroductionMelon (Cucumis melo L.) is an important economic crop, yet its cultivation relies heavily on manual pruning to regulate branching, which limits melon industrialization.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Investigation on Deformation Mechanism and Treatment Effect of a Scattered Slope Based on Continuum–Discontinuum Element Method and Finite Difference Method

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2022
Slope deformation and failure is an inevitable engineering problem in highway construction and operation in mountainous areas. Its essence is a continuous–discontinuous gradual failure process of slope under the action of unbalanced force.

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Targeting Post‐Irradiation Thyroid Dysfunction: Electrospun Scaffolds As A Dual‐Action Approach for Antioxidant and Immune Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Radiation‐induced hypothyroidism follows head and neck radiotherapy due to oxidative stress and inflammation. Electrospun polycaprolactone scaffolds containing adenosine have potential to modulate thyroid repair. Scaffolds enhance thyrocyte proliferation, antioxidant enzymes glutathione peroxidase and catalase, reduce senescence and apoptosis markers ...
