Thermodynamic properties of binary mixtures of terpenes and 1-propanol in the temperature range from 288.15 to 323.15 K at atmospheric pressure [PDF]

open access: yesHemijska Industrija
Terpenes are the most abundant class of chemical compounds present in essential oils. They are considered green solvents, and come from natural sources such as plants, citrus fruits, but also from tree leaves or pinecones.

Microwave synthesis of duplex α/β-SiAlON ceramic cutting inserts: Modifying m, n, z values, synthesis temperature, and excess Y2O3 synthesis additive

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Ceramics, 2022
Duplex α/β-SiAlON ceramic cutting inserts (30α:70β) were synthesized by microwave sintering. The effects of solid solution parameters (m, n, z), synthesis temperature, and amount of excess Y2O3 synthesis additive on phase assemblage, microstructure ...

Effect of Excessive Bleeding on the Properties of Cement Mortar

open access: yesConstruction Materials, 2023
The bleeding of cementitious materials corresponds to the settlement of the granular skeleton accompanied by the accumulation of water at the surface (bleed water). Part of this water (internal bleeding) remains trapped under the aggregates (sand or gravel) or the reinforcements.

Guidelines for Pediatric Radiotherapy Simulation: A Report From the Children's Oncology Group Radiation Oncology Discipline

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric radiation therapy presents unique challenges compared to adult treatments, including those of immobilization, potential need for sedation, and the critical importance of accurate, reproducible positioning. Additionally, heightened attention to imaging doses is necessary to minimize long‐term toxicity in survivors.

BASIS OF THE PROPERTIES OF WEIGHTED EXPONENTIAL SYSTEMS WITH EXCESS

open access: yesVestnik of Samara University. Natural Science Series, 2018
The main aim of this paper is the determination of a class of such functions for which a weighted exponential system becomes complete and minimal in appropriate space when exactly one of its terms is eliminated. It is shown that the system, obtained in this way cannot be a Schouder basis in this space.

Infant Embryonal CNS Tumors: Molecular Insights and Treatment Considerations for Contemporary Pediatric Neuro‐Oncology

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Embryonal tumors comprise the majority of malignant central nervous system (CNS) neoplasms diagnosed in children under 3 years of age. Compared with their counterparts in older children, these tumors exhibit distinct molecular biology and a more aggressive clinical phenotype, while their management is complicated by the heightened ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

EXCESS AND DEVIATIONS PROPERTIES FOR THE BINARY SOLVENT MIXTURES OF TETRAHYDROFURFURYL ALCOHOL WITH SOME AROMATIC HYDROCARBONS AT 298.15K

open access: yesStudia Universitatis Babes-Bolyai Chemia, 2019
In this work, excess properties (e.g. excess molar volume (VE), excess viscosity (ȠE), excess Gibbs free energy of activation of viscos flow (∆G*E) and molar refraction changes (∆nD) of binary solvent mixtures of tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol (THFA) with ...
