Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

An investigation into detecting anomalous trading patterns in electricity markets utilizing a SMOTE-CMAES-LightGBM model

open access: yesDiscover Applied Sciences
In response to the increasingly prominent issue of regulatory violations in electricity market trading, efficiently identifying the categories of misconduct committed by market participants has become a key research focus. To address this challenge, this

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Giant exchange bias in a single-phase magnet with two magnetic sublattices

open access: yes, 2013
Exchange bias phenomenon is generally ascribed to the exchange coupling at the interfaces between ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic layers. Here, we propose a bulk form of exchange bias in a single-phase magnet where the coupling between two magnetic ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

A distributionally robust bilevel optimization model for wholesale–retail electricity market design

open access: yesScientific Reports
The increasing penetration of renewable energy resources and the rising volatility of wholesale electricity prices introduce significant uncertainty into tariff design and retailer procurement decisions.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.
