Infantile Spasms in Pediatric Down Syndrome: Potential Mechanisms Driving Therapeutic Considerations
Infantile spasms are common in Down Syndrome (DS), but the mechanisms by which DS predisposes to this devastating epilepsy syndrome are unclear.

The Excitation Spectrum of a Bose-Einstein Condensate
We report the first measurement of the excitation spectrum and the static structure factor of a Bose-Einstein condensate. The excitation spectrum displays a linear phonon regime, as well as a parabolic single-particle regime.

Simulation of a Power Transformer Differential Protective Relay [PDF]
The aim of this work is to simulate a differential relay, which ensures security for external fault, inrush, and overexcitation conditions and provides dependability for internal faults, to protect a single phase power transformer.

Influence of nuclear de-excitation on observables relevant for space exploration [PDF]
The composition of the space radiation environment inside spacecrafts is modified by the interaction with shielding material, with equipment and even with the astronauts' bodies.

Delay-Induced Excitability [PDF]
We analyse the stochastic dynamics of a bistable system under the influence of time-delayed feedback. Assuming an asymmetric potential, we show the existence of a regime in which the systems dynamic displays excitability by calculating the relevant residence time distributions and correlation times.

ABSTRACT Purpose Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a common complication in survivors of childhood acute lymphoblastic and myeloid leukemia (AL), and a major risk factor for premature cardiovascular disease, type‐2‐diabetes, and metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD).

Paradoxical Hyperexcitability in Disorders of Neurodevelopment
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Rett syndrome (RTT) and Angelman Syndrome (AS) are neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs) that share several clinical characteristics, including displays of repetitive movements, developmental delays, language deficits ...

Core excitation from terminal oxygen O$_T$ in O$_3$ is shown to be an excitation from a localized core orbital to a localized valence orbital. The valence orbital is localized to one of the two equivalent chemical bonds.

ABSTRACT Ongoing evidence indicates increased risk of sarcopenic obesity among children and young people (CYP) with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), often beginning early in treatment, persisting into survivorship. This review evaluates current literature on body composition in CYP with ALL during and after treatment.
