The Role of Local Triplet Excited States and D‐A Relative Orientation in Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence: Photophysics and Devices

open access: yesAdvancement of science, 2016
Here, a comprehensive photophysical investigation of a the emitter molecule DPTZ‐DBTO2, showing thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF), with near‐orthogonal electron donor (D) and acceptor (A) units is reported.

Brainstem and Cerebellar Volume Loss and Associated Clinical Features in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) is a neurodegenerative ‘tauopathy’ with predominating pathology in the basal ganglia and midbrain. Caudal tau spread frequently implicates the cerebellum; however, the pattern of atrophy remains equivocal.

Feasibility and Tolerability of Performing Portable MRI for Neurological Disorders in an Outpatient Neurology Clinic: A Prospective Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Accessing brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be challenging, especially for underserved patients, which may lead to disparities in neurological diagnosis. Method This mixed‐methods study enrolled adults with one of four neurological disorders: mild cognitive impairment or dementia of the Alzheimer type, multiple sclerosis ...

Efficacy of Intermittent Theta‐Burst Stimulation for Prolonged Disorders of Consciousness: A Prospective, Randomized, Controlled Trial

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Emerging evidence suggests that low‐frequency neural oscillations are dynamically regulated by consciousness levels, with the recovery of low cortical activity potentially serving as a neurophysiological substrate for conscious emergence. Targeted enhancement of these low‐frequency rhythms in patients with disorders of consciousness

Assessing the Accuracy of Simplified Coupled Cluster Methods for Electronic Excited States in F0 Actinide Compounds

open access: yes, 2019
We present a benchmark study of the performance of various recently presented EOM-pCCD-based methods to model ground and excited state properties of a set of f0 actinide species that feature different types of electronic excitations, like local ...

Density-based Reactivity Theory Applied to Excited States

open access: yesAAPPS Bulletin
Excited states are essential to many chemical processes in photosynthesis, solar cells, light-emitting diodes, and so on, yet how to formulate, quantify, and predict physiochemical properties for excited states from the theoretical perspective is far ...

The Tale of the Residual Tail: Insights From Continuous Intracranial Monitoring From Post‐Hippocampectomy Dynamics

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Subtotal hippocampal resection can leave residual hippocampal tissue, yet the immediate postoperative electrophysiologic evolution of such remnants is unknown. We describe a patient with drug‐resistant temporal lobe epilepsy in whom a hippocampal remnant was continuously monitored using a responsive neurostimulator (RNS) following subtotal ...

Multireference perturbation theory: the challenging case of the ionic excited states.

open access: yes, 2011
Multireference Perturbation theory, in its different implementations and applied up to second order in the energy, has shown to be a very effective approach for the study of the excited states of small and medium size molecules, with a good computational-

Low-Cost Molecular Excited States from a State-Averaged Resonating Hartree-Fock Approach

open access: yes, 2019
Quantum chemistry methods that describe excited states on the same footing as the ground state are generally scarce. In previous work, Gill et al. (J. Phys. Chem. A 112, 13164 (2008)) and later Sundstrom and Head-Gordon (J. Chem. Phys. 140, 114103 (2014))

Recurrent Hypothermia and Autonomic Dysfunction Secondary to Shapiro Syndrome

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A 44‐year‐old man presented with recurrent hypothermia, diaphoresis and hypertension. Extensive investigation for infectious, inflammatory, metabolic and endocrine aetiologies was negative. MR scan of the brain demonstrated no lesions but revealed callosal dysgenesis, consistent with Shapiro syndrome.
