Prevalence and Correlates of Exergaming in Youth
Pediatrics, 2012OBJECTIVES:Less than 15% of children and adolescents participate regularly in physical activity (PA) and, with ever-increasing obesity, strategies to improve PA levels in youth are urgently needed. This paper presents a pilot study that explores an experimental setup for measuring stress reduction through an exergaming approach within the spatial limitations of a car. Besides our focus on the exploration of the experiment's setup, we present preliminary results that are crucial for the design of gameful stress reduction in the car context.

A Kinect based adaptive exergame
2016 IEEE 12th International Conference on Intelligent Computer Communication and Processing (ICCP), 2016This paper describes an application that aims to stimulate physical activity adapted to elderly people. The application is implemented as a game with two avatars: user and trainer. The user avatar must reproduce the movements of the trainer's avatar. The similarity between two movements is computed using Dynamic Time Warping.

Benevolent Deception in Exergame Design
2019Exergames are becoming increasingly popular as a way of motivating people to exercise. How to use games to increase personal exercise motivation has become an important issue both for HCI researchers and interaction designers. While many exergames can attract users, not all of them have the ability to sustain high levels of motivation over time.
