Chimera states: The Existence Criteria Revisited
Chimera states, representing a spontaneous break-up of a population of identical oscillators that are identically coupled, into sub-populations displaying synchronized and desynchronized behavior, have traditionally been found to exist in weakly coupled ...

Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

Propagation of perturbations for a sixth-order thin film equation
We consider an initial-boundary problem for a sixth-order thin film equation, which arises in the industrial application of the isolation oxidation of silicon.

The Caenorhabditis elegans DPF‐3 and human DPP4 have tripeptidyl peptidase activity
The dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPPIV) family comprises serine proteases classically defined by their ability to remove dipeptides from the N‐termini of substrates, a feature that gave the family its name. Here, we report the discovery of a previously unrecognized tripeptidyl peptidase activity in DPPIV family members from two different species.

Global solutions to a one-dimensional nonlinear wave equation derivable from a variational principle
This article focuses on a one-dimensional nonlinear wave equation which is the Euler-Lagrange equation of a variational principle whose Lagrangian density involves linear terms and zero term as well as quadratic terms in derivatives of the field.

It seems obvious that I could have failed to exist. My parents could easily never have met, in which case I should never have been conceived and born. The like applies to everyone. More generally, it seems plausible that whatever exists in space and time could have failed to exist. Events could have taken an utterly different course.
