Existence and uniqueness of solution for a fractional hepatitis B model

open access: yesComputational and Mathematical Biophysics
Understanding the dynamics of infectious diseases using mathematical modeling is essential for developing prevention and control measures. Hepatitis B is still a major public health issue in many places, including Kenya, where the high incidence of ...

Existence and Uniqueness of Solutions to Dynamic Models with Occasionally Binding Constraints

open access: yesReview of Economics and Statistics, 2016
Occasionally binding constraints (OBCs) like the zero lower bound (ZLB) can lead to multiple equilibria, and so to belief-driven recessions. To aid in finding policies that avoid this, we derive existence and uniqueness conditions for otherwise linear ...

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

Local and nonlocal value boundary problems for a third-order mixed-type equation equipped with Tricomi operator in its hyperbolic part

open access: yesVestnik Samarskogo Gosudarstvennogo Tehničeskogo Universiteta. Seriâ: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2008
The existence and uniqueness of local and nonlocal value boundary problems for third-order mixed-type equations with multiple characteristics is proved. Uniqueness of the problem solution is proved with energy-integral method.

ON THE EXISTENCE, UNIQUENESS OF SOLUTION OF A NONLINEAR VIBRATIONS EQUATION

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica, 1999
The authors consider the following initial-boundary problem: \[ u_{tt}+\gamma \Delta^2u-B(\|\nabla u\|^2)\Delta u+ g(u,u_t)=f(x,t),\quad x\in \Omega ,t>0, \tag{1} \] \[ u=0,\;\frac{\partial u}{\partial \nu}=0,\quad \text{on} \;\partial \Omega, \tag{2} \] \[ u(x,0)=u_0(x), u_t(x,0)=u_1(x),\quad x\in \Omega, \tag{3} \] where \(\Omega \subset \mathbb{R}^n\

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

Existence and uniqueness theorems for periodic Markov process and applications to stochastic functional differential equations

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2018
This work is devoted to an M -valued Markov process with a periodic transition probability function, where M is a Polish space. Sufficient conditions for the existence and uniqueness of the periodic Markov process are given.
