Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Combined endocrine and exocrine tumours of the pancreas
Background Cystic neoplasms of the pancreas comprise 10%–15% of pancreatic cystic lesions, with the serous cystadenoms being the commonest. The association of exocrine and endocrine tumours of the pancreas unrelated to Von Hipple Lindau disease is very ...

Polystyrene nanoplastics disrupt pancreatic immune–endocrine homeostasis by promoting MHC‐I‐associated dendritic cell activation and inflammatory crosstalk with β cells. This immune remodeling drives β‐cell dedifferentiation, impairs insulin secretion, and aggravates metabolic dysfunction, revealing a previously unrecognized immunometabolic mechanism ...

This review examines the potential of in vivo direct reprogramming in regenerative medicine for functional tissue restoration, highlighting the role of tissue‐resident cues in generating functionally mature reprogrammed cells from lineage‐related cells. It contains a discussion on mechanisms, reprogramming factors, delivery approaches, and applications

The density of parasympathetic axons is reduced in the exocrine pancreas of individuals recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. [PDF]
To elucidate the etiology of type 1 diabetes, the affected pancreas needs to be thoroughly characterized. Pancreatic innervation has been suggested to be involved in the pathology of the disease and a reduction of sympathetic innervation of the islets ...

During pancreatitis, IL‐1α is released from necrotic acinar cells. In response to IL‐1α, pancreatic fibroblasts release chemokines and cytokines that regulate the recruitment of immune cells to the damaged organ. Furthermore, IL‐1α primes fibroblasts, resulting in increased tissue fibrosis during chronic pancreatitis.

Sonographic pancreas echogenicity in cystic fibrosis compared to exocrine pancreatic function and pancreas fat content at Dixon-MRI. [PDF]
OBJECTIVE:Fatty infiltration of the pancreas is a dominating feature in cystic fibrosis (CF). We evaluate the association between pancreatic fat content assessed by Dixon magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), pancreatic echogenicity at ultrasonography (US ...

ABSTRACT Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) has recently gained increasing attention as a potential cause of postoperative gastrointestinal symptoms following gastrointestinal cancer surgery. Surgical procedures can disrupt normal gastrointestinal physiology through anatomical reconstruction, impaired motility, reduced gastric acid secretion,

Pancreatic endocrine and exocrine signaling and crosstalk in physiological and pathological status
The pancreas, an organ with dual functions, regulates blood glucose levels through the endocrine system by secreting hormones such as insulin and glucagon. It also aids digestion through the exocrine system by secreting digestive enzymes.
