Iron Complexes With Proteins, Carbohydrates, and Maillard Products in Dairy Systems: Implication for Fortification, Bioavailability, and Product Functionality

open access: yesComprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety, Volume 25, Issue 4, July 2026.
ABSTRACT The global prevalence of iron (Fe) deficiency anemia (IDA) continues to pose major public health challenges, necessitating the development of effective fortification strategies. Dairy‐based systems are promising vehicles for Fe fortification and delivery due to their widespread consumption and nutritional value, although their complex matrix ...

Coumarins Disrupt Cell–Cell Communication and Virulence in Priority Pathogens: Targeting the PQS Signalling System in Pseudomonas aeruginosa

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, Volume 19, Issue 7, July 2026.
The selective nature through which coumarin compounds produced by different species of plants target PQS signalling in Pseudomonas aeruginosa and select for distinct phenotypic responses in key pathogenic organisms adds to the growing evidence of their utility as natural virulence suppressors. ABSTRACT Cell‐to‐cell communication in microbial systems is

Ralstonia pseudosolanacearum PhcQ Controls Quorum Sensing‐Dependent Phenotypes by Binding PhcA and Maintaining Its Protein Stability

open access: yesMolecular Plant Pathology, Volume 27, Issue 7, July 2026.
PhcQ is a key intermediary stabiliser of PhcA controlling quorum sensing‐dependent phenotypes by maintaining protein stability of PhcA. It is downstream of PhcB and upstream of PhcA in the QS regulatory cascade. It binds to PhcA; deletion of a disordered tail in the PhcA C‐terminus impairs its binding affinity.
