Self Adjusting Exosuit for Shoulder

2021
To help the shoulder lift the arm against gravity, this paper proposes a soft cable-driven exoskeleton system. The shoulder posture is measured in real time by the heading and attitude reference systems distributed on the forearm and torso, and the ideal output tension of the two rope systems is calculated based on this.

Biologically-inspired soft exosuit

2013 IEEE 13th International Conference on Rehabilitation Robotics (ICORR), 2013
In this paper, we present the design and evaluation of a novel soft cable-driven exosuit that can apply forces to the body to assist walking. Unlike traditional exoskeletons which contain rigid framing elements, the soft exosuit is worn like clothing, yet can generate moments at the ankle and hip with magnitudes of 18% and 30% of those naturally ...

Upper limb exosuit cable routing optimization

2022 International Conference on Rehabilitation Robotics (ICORR), 2022
Exosuits are emerging as promising in assisting with activities of daily living. In the design phase of an exosuit, it is fundamental to maximize its portability. The goal of this work was to identify the best cable routing configuration for an upper limb cable-driven exosuit to assist elbow flexion. Simulations were run in OpenSim.

Soft exosuit for hip assistance

Robotics and Autonomous Systems, 2015
Abstract Exoskeletons comprised of rigid load-bearing structures have been developed for many years, but a new paradigm is to create “exosuits” that apply tensile forces to the body using textiles and utilize the body’s skeletal structure to support compressive forces.

A soft exosuit for hip extension assistance of the elderly

Technology and Health Care, 2021
BACKGROUND: Population aging is now a universal trend. Many elderly persons can only conduct limited and short time walking because of age-related skeletal muscle decline of the lower limbs. The wearable device for walking assistance is beneficial to improve the life quality of the elderly.

Development of a Soft Exosuit for Industrial Applications

2018 7th IEEE International Conference on Biomedical Robotics and Biomechatronics (Biorob), 2018
Wearable robotic devices and exoskeletons, that assist human beings in physically-demanding tasks have the potential to both increase productivity and reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders. Soft exoskeletons, known as exosuit, provide improved portability and fit.
