Design and embedded control of a soft elbow exosuit

2018 IEEE International Conference on Soft Robotics (RoboSoft), 2018
The use of soft materials to transmit power to the human body has numerous advantages, amongst which safety and kinematic transparency stand out. In previous work we showed that a tethered fabric-based exosuit for the elbow joint, driven by an electric motor through a Bowden cable transmission, reduces the muscular effort associated with flexion ...

ExoFlex: An Upper-Limb Cable-Driven Exosuit

2019
This paper presents ExoFlex, an upper-limb flexible exoskeleton (exosuit) intended for assistance in elbow and shoulder rehabilitation therapies. The soft nature of the device allows it to easily adapt to human biomechanics. The presented exosuit is equipped with a cable-driven transmission in which torque is generated by two direct current (DC) motors.

A review of upper-limb soft exosuit

Theoretical and Natural Science, 2023
A rigid exoskeleton has been developed for decades, and its feasibility has been proven in many areas, such as rehabilitation. Unlike the rigid exoskeleton, the soft exosuit provides a new insight for wearable robotics development and has drawn much attention as the external muscles instead of exoskeletons, especially for supporting users’ activities ...

Soft-inflatable exosuit for knee rehabilitation

2017 International Symposium on Wearable Robotics and Rehabilitation (WeRob), 2017
In the case of individuals with paresis, generation of the required knee-extension moment, so as to perform common mobility tasks, is partially lost [1], [2]. Robotic solutions such as rigid exoskeletons are often heavy and bulky and may lead to discomfort and increased dependency on supervised physical therapy.
