Choroid plexus volume in multiple sclerosis predicts expansion of chronic lesions and brain atrophy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, 2022
Objectives Recent studies suggested that the expansion of long‐standing multiple sclerosis (MS) lesions and an enlargement of choroid plexus may be linked to chronic inflammation and microglial activation.

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

OPERATION DU FOISONNEMENT

open access: yesScientific Study & Research: Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Food Industry, 2010
Mousses alimentaires sont un sous-ensemble des aliments connus sous le nom de produits fouettés ou des produits aérés. Ils sont des produits formulés avec des qualités telles que la légèreté et la souplesse et sont principalement consommés à l'apéritif ...

Biomass expansion factor and root-to-shoot ratio for Pinus in Brazil

open access: yesCarbon Balance and Management, 2011
The Biomass Expansion Factor (BEF) and the Root-to-Shoot Ratio (R) are variables used to quantify carbon stock in forests. They are often considered as constant or species/area specific values in most studies.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Auxetic incisions with alternating slit shapes: a promising technique for enhancing synthetic skin grafts expansion

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2023
Split thickness skin grafts are widely used in treating burn injuries. To date, with limited availability of donor skin and minimal expansions offered by conventional skin grafting, it is challenging to cover large and severe burns.

The effect of microstructure on the sheared edge quality and hole expansion ratio of hot-rolled 700 MPa steel

open access: yes, 2017
The effects of microstructure on the cutting and hole expansion properties of three thermomechanically rolled steels have been investigated. The yield strength of the studied 3 mm thick strip steels was approximately 700 MPa.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Effect of ratio of taro (Colocasia esculenta L.) on physicochemical properties of snacks

open access: yesTạp chí Kiểm nghiệm và An toàn thực phẩm
Taro root (Colocasia esculenta L.) is indeed a valuable food crop, rich in nutrients like starch, sugar, minerals, vitamins, and fiber, especially, mucilage. It acts as a thickening, binding, emulsifying, swelling capacities or foaming agent in food, and

Thermal contraction in silicon nanowires at low temperatures

open access: yes, 2010
The thermal expansion effect of silicon nanowires (SiNW) in [100], [110] and [111] directions with different sizes is theoretically investigated. At low temperatures, all SiNW studied exhibit thermal contraction effect due to the lowest energy of the ...
