Economic-Statistical Performance of Auxiliary Information-Based Maximum EWMA Charts for Monitoring Manufacturing Processes

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
An auxiliary information-based maximum exponentially weighted moving average chart, namely, the AIB-MaxEWMA chart, is superior to the existing MaxEWMA chart in detecting small process mean and/or variability shifts.

The Theoretical Framework on Approximation of Neutrosophic Numbers and Their Application [PDF]

open access: yesNeutrosophic Sets and Systems
Neutrosophic sets are effectual logic represented to understand ambiguous and inconsistent infor mation. They are frequently used to explain many types of partial or incomplete information.

Test of CP invariance in vector-boson fusion production of the Higgs boson in the H → ττ channel in proton–proton collisions at s=13TeV with the ATLAS detector

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2020
A test of CP invariance in Higgs boson production via vector-boson fusion is performed in the H→ττ decay channel. This test uses the Optimal Observable method and is carried out using 36.1fb−1 of s=13TeV proton–proton collision data collected by the ...

Incremental yield of serial sputum examinations in the diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis in Taiwan: Findings of a pragmatic trial

open access: yesJournal of Microbiology, Immunology and Infection, 2023
Background: Presumptive tuberculosis (TB) cases commonly had two to three sputum examinations in Taiwan. The incremental yield of serial sputum examinations has not been assessed before.

Pentagonal Neutrosophic Transportation Problems with Interval Cost [PDF]

open access: yesNeutrosophic Sets and Systems, 2022
The present paper aims to deal with a new variant of uncertain classical transportation problem namely ‘Interval Pentagonal Neutrosophic Transportation Problem’ (IPNTP) in which the uncertainty of source & destination parameters are described by ...

Expectancy in humans in multisecond peak-interval timing with gaps [PDF]

open access: yesAttention, Perception, & Psychophysics, 2009
In two experiments, the peak-interval procedure was used with humans to test effects related to gaps in multisecond timing. In Experiment 1, peak times of response distributions were shorter when the gap occurred later during the encoding of the criterion time to be reproduced, suggesting that gap expectancy shortened perceived durations.

On p-confidence intervals for g-expectations

open access: yesCommunications on Stochastic Analysis, 2015
Summary: This paper defines a \(g\)-variance and \(p\)-confidence interval for a \(g\)-expectation. We also determine the \(p\)-confidence intervals under some specific assumptions on \(g\).

A Study on the Estimator Distribution for the Expected Value of a Compound Periodic Poisson Process with Power Function Trend

open access: yesInPrime, 2022
This article discusses the estimation for the expected value, also called the mean function, of a compound periodic Poisson process with a power function trend. The aims of our study are, first, to modify the existing estimator to produce a new estimator

Updating metacognitive control in response to expected retention intervals [PDF]

open access: yesMemory & Cognition, 2016
In five experiments, we investigated whether expected retention intervals affect subjects' encoding strategies. In the first four experiments, our subjects studied paired associates consisting of words from the Graduate Record Exam and a synonym. They were told to expect a test on a word pair after either a short or a longer interval.
