Features of Using Videogrammetry in Experimental Aerodynamics

Measurement Techniques, 2019
We briefly describe the special considerations that must be taken into account in experimental aerodynamics when using videogrammetry for non-intrusive measurement of distributed geometric parameters describing the position, movement, and deformation of objects.

Experimental studies of Maglev Aerodynamics

13th Applied Aerodynamics Conference, 1995
A high speed moving track test system was designed and built for the testing of magnetically levitated vehicle (Maglev) models in the Virginia Tech Stability Wind Tunnel and aerodynamic tests were conducted on a vehicle configuration provided by NASA, Northrop-Grumman, and the Department of Transportation. The moving track test system was configured to

Aerodynamic Development of an Experimental car

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1989
<div class="htmlview paragraph">An experimental research car that runs at over 300 km/h has been developed by aerodynamic improvement. To achieve this target with 295PS, 2000cc engine, a coefficient of drag CD = 0.20 was required. The results of basic research and some fundamental aerodynamics are described.

Experimental Identification of Aerodynamic Forces

Journal of the Engineering Mechanics Division, 1978
A semi-empirical method to assess aerodynamic forces acting on a two-dimensional bridge model is proposed. By integrating or differentiating numerically the acceleration or the displacement records of the wind tunnel model, the time series of the aerodynamic forces are found on the basis of the equation of motion of the model.
