Experimental Evaluation of Properties of Cross-Linked Polyethylene

Materials and Manufacturing Processes, 2003
This article describes several aspects of the production of cross-linked polyethylene. Advantages and disadvantages of chemical, or electron beam irradiation, cross-linking processes are discussed. The material under test is thermoshrinking low density polyethylene, produced at the Megarad s.r.l. (Cassino, Italy) firm.

Controls in Cross-Cultural Experimentation

International Journal of Psychology, 1973

Ocular Pressure in Experimental Cross Circulation

A.M.A. Archives of Ophthalmology, 1959
It has been observed since at least 1924 that the ocular pressure of one eye may be influenced by alterations in the pressure of the second eye. 1 The phrase "ophthalmotonic consensual reaction" has been used to describe this phenomenon. 1 The reaction has been studied in both humans and animals 2-4 and was recently characterized in some detail by ...

Vertical cross-shareholding: Theory and experimental evidence

International Journal of Industrial Organization, 2007
Abstract This paper analyzes vertical cross-shareholding, that is, the mutual holding of a minority of shares between vertically related firms. First, we explore the issue in a game-theoretic model and show that cross-shareholding is sufficient to obtain efficient outcomes. We then test the model's predictions in an experiment.

Laboratory Experimental Setup For Cross-Well Radar

16th EEGS Symposium on the Application of Geophysics to Engineering and Environmental Problems, 2003
Cross Well Radar is a technique that uses Ground Penetrating Radar, with antennas that are lowered into sampling wells in-situ by cable. Radar waves are emitted from a transmitting antenna in one well propagate through the ground to a receiving antenna in a second well to image the dielectric properties of soils for detecting contaminants (such as ...

Experimental and Cross-Cultural Epistemology

2021
Abstract Chapter 10 examines how contemporary trends in experimental philosophy can benefit from the study of Buddhist epistemology. In particular, it explores the question of whether an appreciation of Buddhist epistemology could inform philosophers about both the merits of experimental epistemology and experimental philosophy’s ...

An Experimental Cross-Connect System for Metropolitan Applications

IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 1987
New approaches to structuring the transport layer of telecommunications networks can lead to significantly enhanced capabilities at the same time as reducing network operating costs. Proposals for a network transport layer based upon a series of narrow-band, wide-band, and broad-band digital cross-connects are presented.

Numerical and experimental analysis of a cross antenna

2006 International Caribbean Conference on Devices, Circuits and Systems, 2006
The cross antenna is a medium gain and circular polarization structure made of a conductor or strip line over a ground plane, following a cross contour of four or more branches. One end is feed by a generator and the other one is charged with a load impedance.
