[Experimental cross-bow injury].

Soudni lekarstvi, 2006
A high of easily obtainable cross-bows was pointed out in an experiment. In the same time, an experience from foreign papers was verified that injuries caused by arrows with a head for target shooting can imitate the gun shot injuries. Because of their rate increasing in connection with accesibility of cross-bows these injuries need to be recognized ...

Cross‐circulation in experimental hepatic failure in the pig

Liver, 1986
ABSTRACT— In experimental liver failure (pigs with totally devascularized liver) the effect of different types of extracorporeal hepatic assistance was evaluated. Group I (N = 6) were untreated controls, Group II (N = 6), simple cross‐circulation, Group III (N = 6), cross‐circulation with inflow in the donor directly into the portal vein and Group IV ...

Deconvolution of experimental differential cross sections

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1989
A method to deconvolute experimental differential cross sections is presented. The procedure removes the effect of the angular divergence of the primary beam, the finite size of the detector, and multiple scattering. The resulting cross section is the optimal experimental result.

An Experimental Cross-Validation of Mental Imagery

Imagination, Cognition and Personality, 1981
The following operational question was investigated: do two separate, independently developed models of mental imagery tap the same underlying psychological phenomena? Empirical implications were derived from a general cognitive-information model and a bio-feedback model to be tested simultaneously within the design of a single experiment.

Genetic dissection of complex traits.

Science, 1994
Medical genetics was revolutionized during the 1980s by the application of genetic mapping to locate the genes responsible for simple Mendelian diseases. Most diseases and traits, however, do not follow simple inheritance patterns.

Experimental Techniques for Cross-Section Measurements

1984
Instrumentation and experimental techniques for electron-impact crosssection measurements have improved significantly in recent years. This progress has been motivated by the need for electron collision data in connection with the modeling of many practical systems (lasers, plasma devices, planetary ionospheres, chemical systems under the influence of ...

Cross-Tolerance: Theoretical and Experimental Issues

1996
Abstract A common theme in the area of cross-tolerance can be derived from two major reviews of tolerance and cross-tolerance during the 1970s. Kalant et al. (1971) stated that “it has been long recognized that cross-tolerance can exist between various depressant drugs, such as ethanol and barbiturates, or ethanol and other sedatives ...

Experimental Measurement of the Photodetachment Cross Section

Canadian Journal of Physics, 1972
The cross section for photodetachment of the [Formula: see text] ion has been measured at a pressure of 3 Torr in a flowing weak plasma. A differentially pumped quadrupole mass spectrometer was used to identify the ion and detect photodetachment.

Numerical and experimental investigations of cross-flow fans

2004
Summary: The prediction of performance characteristics and flow field data of cross-flow fans (CFF) is difficult due to the complex flow structure and working principle. Numerical methods will become more important in order to get a better knowledge of the complex flow-phenomena in CFF and will lead to a reduction of experimental work in the process of
