Application of all-relevant feature selection for the failure analysis of parameter-induced simulation crashes in climate models [PDF]
Climate models are extremely complex pieces of software. They reflect the best knowledge on the physical components of the climate; nevertheless, they contain several parameters, which are too weakly constrained by observations, and can potentially lead ...

An expert system for recommending suitable ornamental fish addition to an aquarium based on aquarium condition [PDF]
Expert systems prove to be suitable replacement for human experts when human experts are unavailable for different reasons. Various expert system has been developed for wide range of application. Although some expert systems in the field of fishery and aquaculture has been developed but a system that aids user in process of selecting a new addition to ...

Abstract Positron emission tomography with x‐ray computed tomography (PET/CT) is increasingly being utilized for radiation treatment planning (RTP). Accurate delivery of RT therefore depends on quality PET/CT data. This study covers quality control (QC) procedures required for PET/CT for diagnostic imaging and incremental QC required for RTP.

Forming Effective Human-AI Teams: Building Machine Learning Models that Complement the Capabilities of Multiple Experts [PDF]
Machine learning (ML) models are increasingly being used in application domains that often involve working together with human experts. In this context, it can be advantageous to defer certain instances to a single human expert when they are difficult to predict for the ML model.

Consensus molecular subtypes (CMS1‐4) have been identified to study colorectal cancer heterogeneity and serve as potential biomarkers. In this study, we developed and evaluated NanoCMSer, a NanoString‐based classifier using 55 genes, optimized for FF and FFPE to facilitate the clinical evaluation of CMS subtyping.

A small footprint couch‐top support device for image‐guided radiotherapy of heavy patients
Abstract Purpose Patients with body weights close to or above 400 lbs present unique challenges in radiation therapy since the weight limit of most treatment couches decreases as the couch‐top extends toward the treatment gantry. The purpose of this work was to develop a small footprint couch‐top support platform to safely perform image‐guided ...

Large multidimensional digital images of cancer tissue are becoming prolific, but many challenges exist to automatically extract relevant information from them using computational tools. We describe publicly available resources that have been developed jointly by expert and non‐expert computational biologists working together during a virtual hackathon
