Approximations and inequalities for the exponential beta function

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2019
In this paper, motivated by interest in simulating the expenditure patterns of construction projects, we introduce the mathematical concept of Exponential-Beta function by F(α,β):=∫01exp[xα(1−x)β]dx, $$ F ( \alpha ,\beta ) := \int _{0}^{1}\exp \bigl[ x^{\

Progress in Strain Engineering of 2D‐Integrated Heterostructures for Ultrasensitive Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
. ABSTRACT Two‐dimensional (2D) integrated heterostructures have emerged as a cornerstone in the advancement of next‐generation sensor technologies. These heterostructures, which combine materials with different dimensionalities, have led to significant breakthroughs in sensing performance and device integration.

Surface Energy Modulated Self‐Assembly of Percolative Gallium Nanodroplet Films for Stretchable Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Surface‐energy guided self‐assembly of liquid metals enables the transformation of liquid metal micro/nanodroplets into continuous perocolative films on elastomeric substrates. By tailoring interfacial energetics and wetting behavior, uniform, conductive, and stretchable films are achieved, offering scalable pathways for high‐performance soft ...

Private Convex Optimization via Exponential Mechanism

open access: yesJournal of Privacy and Confidentiality
In this paper, we study private optimization problems for non-smooth convex functions $F(x)=\mathbb{E}_i f_i(x)$ on $\mathbb{R}^d$.We show that modifying the exponential mechanism by adding an $\ell_2^2$ regularizer to $F(x)$ and sampling from $\pi(x)\propto \exp(-k(F(x)+\mu\|x\|_2^2/2))$ recovers both the known optimal empirical risk and population ...

Operando X‐Ray Diffraction and Total Scattering Characterization of Battery Materials: Not Just a Pretty Picture

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This review focuses on operando studies of battery materials by X‐ray diffraction (XRD) and total X‐ray scattering (TXS). This work highlights potential pitfalls and identify best‐practices for operando studies and reviews some unusual experiments to illustrate how these methods can be applied beyond the evaluation of the early‐stage cycling mechanisms

On the refinements of Jensen Mercer's inequality

open access: yesJournal of Numerical Analysis and Approximation Theory, 2012
In this paper we give refinements of Jensen-Mercer's inequality and its generalizations and give applications for means. We prove \(n\)-exponential convexity of the functions constructed from these refinements. At the end we discuss some examples.

Comparison Between Bayesian and Frequentist Tail Probability Estimates

open access: yes, 2019
In this paper, we investigate the reasons that the Bayesian estimator of the tail probability is always higher than the frequentist estimator. Sufficient conditions for this phenomenon are established both by using Jensen's Inequality and by looking at ...

The n-exponential convexity for majorization inequality for functions of two variables and related results

open access: yes, 2014
We apply the refined method of producing n -exponential convex functions of J. Pecaric and J. Peric to extend some known results on majorization type and related inequalities.

Technoeconomic and sustainability analysis of batch and continuous crystallization for pharmaceutical manufacturing

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract In pharmaceutical industries, continuous manufacturing methods have already been well established to improve productivity and process intensification. However, to better understand the trade‐offs of continuous crystallizers over the existing batch production systems, a robust technoeconomic cost and sustainability analysis is necessary to ...
