The exponential decay rate of generic tree of 1-d wave equations with boundary feedback controls

open access: yesNetworks and Heterogeneous Media, 2016
In this paper, we study the exponential decay rate of generic tree of 1-d wave equations withboundary feedback controls. For the networks, there are some results on the exponential stability, but no result on estimate of the decay rate.

Bearing Fault Diagnosis Based on Natural Adaptive Moment Estimation Algorithm and Improved Octave Convolution

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Fault diagnosis of rolling bearing has been the focus of research. Bearing signals are often accompanied by similar information, resulting in redundancy between data.

Analysis of Dynamic Characteristics of Tristable Exponential Section of Piezoelectric Energy Harvester

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
Variable-cross-section beams have better mass and strength distribution compared with constant cross-section beams, which can optimize the harvesting power of piezoelectric vibration energy harvesters, which are widely used in self-supplied and low-power

Robust Bayesian Fluorescence Lifetime Estimation, Decay Model Selection and Instrument Response Determination for Low-Intensity FLIM Imaging.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
We present novel Bayesian methods for the analysis of exponential decay data that exploit the evidence carried by every detected decay event and enables robust extension to advanced processing.

Exponential Estimates and Stabilization of Discrete-Time Singular Time-Delay Systems Subject to Actuator Saturation

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2012
This paper is concerned with exponential estimates and stabilization of a class of discrete-time singular systems with time-varying state delays and saturating actuators.

The practical electromagnetic effect in surface-enhanced Raman scattering observed by the lithographically fabricated gold nanosquare dimers

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2020
We experimentally investigated the practical electromagnetic effects in surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), using the precisely fabricated array of gold nanosquare dimers. The array of gold nanosquare dimers was fabricated by electron-beam exposure

Energy Decay Estimates of a Timoshenko System with Two Nonlinear Variable Exponent Damping Terms

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
This paper is concerned with the asymptotic behavior of the solution of a Timoshenko system with two nonlinear variable exponent damping terms. We prove that the system is stable under some specific conditions on the variable exponent and the equal wave ...

Enhanced observability of quantum post-exponential decay using distant detectors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We study the elusive transition from exponential to post-exponential (algebraic) decay of the probability density of a quantum particle emitted by an exponentially decaying source, in one dimension. The main finding is that the probability density at the

Exponential Decay for Nonlinear von Kármán Equations with Memory

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2013
We consider the nonlinear von Kármán equations with memory term. We show the exponential decay result of solutions. Our result is established without imposing the usual relation between g and its derivative.

Is radioactive decay really exponential? [PDF]

open access: yesEPL (Europhysics Letters), 2012
Radioactive decay of an unstable isotope is widely believed to be exponential. This view is supported by experiments on rapidly decaying isotopes but is more difficult to verify for slowly decaying isotopes. The decay of 14C can be calibrated over a period of 12,550 years by comparing radiocarbon dates with dates obtained from dendrochronology.
