Elevated Connectivity During Language Processing Is Associated With Cognitive Performance in SeLECTS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Self‐Limited Epilepsy with Centrotemporal Spikes (SeLECTS) is associated with language impairments despite seizures originating in the motor cortex, suggesting aberrant cross‐network interactions. Here we tested whether functional connectivity in SeLECTS during language tasks predicts language performance.

A Robust Adaptive One‐Sample‐Ahead Preview Super‐Twisting Sliding Mode Controller

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
Block Diagram of the Robust Adaptive One‐Sample‐Ahead Preview Super‐Twisting Sliding Mode Controller. ABSTRACT This article introduces a discrete‐time robust adaptive one‐sample‐ahead preview super‐twisting sliding mode controller. A stability analysis of the controller by Lyapunov criteria is developed to demonstrate its robustness in handling both ...

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Cauchy problem and exponential stability for the inhomogeneous Landau equation

open access: yes, 2015
This work deals with the inhomogeneous Landau equation on the torus in the cases of hard, maxwellian and moderately soft potentials. We first investigate the linearized equation and we prove exponential decay estimates for the associated semigroup.

Microstructural Evolution and Vacancy Defect Formation in Mn–Mo–Ni RPV Steel Under Low Cycle Fatigue: Insights From EBSD and PALS

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐cycle fatigue damage in Mn–Mo–Ni reactor pressure vessel steel is examined using a combined electron backscatter diffraction and positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy approach. The study correlates texture evolution, dislocation substructure development, and vacancy‐type defect formation across uniform, necked, and fracture regions, providing

Exponential Decay of Reconstruction Error From Binary Measurements of Sparse Signals [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2014
Binary measurements arise naturally in a variety of statistics and engineering applications. They may be inherent to the problem—for example, in determining the relationship between genetics and the presence or absence of a disease—or they may be a ...

Moving walls accelerate mixing

open access: yes, 2011
Mixing in viscous fluids is challenging, but chaotic advection in principle allows efficient mixing. In the best possible scenario, the decay rate of the concentration profile of a passive scalar should be exponential in time. In practice, several authors

Additive Gaussian Process Regression for Predictive Design of High‐Performance, Printable Silicones

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A chemistry‐aware design framework for tuning printable polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) for vat photopolymerization (VPP) is developed using additive Gaussian process (GP) modeling. Polymer network mechanics informs variable groupings, feasible formulation constraints, and interaction variables.
