Experimental Analysis and Physics‐Based Analytical Model on Twisted and Coiled Artificial Muscles

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Twisted and coiled artificial muscles made from silver‐coated nylon fibers are investigated through experiments and analytical modeling. The actuators achieve contractions up to 19.3% and specific work of 8 kJ kg−1, though efficiency remains limited (≈0.15%) by thermal losses.

Exponential decay of two-body eigenfunctions: A review

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2000
We review various results on the exponential decay of the eigenfunctions of two-body Schrödinger operators. The exponential, isotropic bound results of Slaggie and Wichmann for eigenfunctions of Schrödinger operators corresponding to eigenvalues below ...

Exponential Decay for Barrier Potentials

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1998
The exponential decay of the probability of a quantum particle to remain inside the trap is calculated for the one-dimensional Schrödinger operator \(H = -d^2/dx^2 + V(x)\) acting in \(L^2({\mathbb{R}})\). The results generalize an earlier study of R. Levine for weaker conditions.

Long-time behavior of many-particle quantum decay

open access: yes, 2011
While exponential decay is ubiquitous in Nature, deviations at both short and long times are dictated by quantum mechanics. Non-exponential decay is known to arise due to the possibility of reconstructing the initial state from the decaying products.

A Positron Lifetime Study of Cooling and Natural Aging of Solutionized Aluminum Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The process during cooling of Al–Mg and Al–Mg–Si alloys from the solutionizing temperature down to 20 °C is interrupted. These states are analyzed with positron lifetime spectroscopy to trace the processes during cooling. In different temperature ranges, two stages of vacancy loss and solute clustering are identified.

3D Printed Ultra‐Fast Plastic Scintillators Based on Perovskite‐Photocurable Polymer Composite

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
The demand for radiation detection is increasing in a number of fields, including high‐energy physics, medical imaging, and homeland security. This study serves to demonstrate the potential for the fabrication of fast perovskite‐based scintillators with complex shapes via stereolithographic additive manufacturing, representing a new path toward the ...

Unique Performance Considerations for Printable Organic Semiconductor and Perovskite Radiation Detectors: Toward Consensus on Best Practice Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A lack of standard approaches for testing and reporting the performance of metal halide perovskites and organic semiconductor radiation detectors has resulted in inconsistent interpretation of performance parameters, impeding progress in the field. This Perspective recommends key metrics and experimental details, which are suggested for reporting in ...

Numerical Exponential Decay to Dissipative Bresse System

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2010
We consider the Bresse system with frictional dissipative terms acting in all the equations. We show the exponential decay of the solution by using a method developed by Z. Liu and S. Zheng and their collaborators in past years.

Nonradiative limitations to plasmon propagation in chains of metallic nanoparticles

open access: yes, 2016
We investigate the collective plasmonic modes in a chain of metallic nanoparticles that are coupled by near-field interactions. The size- and momentum-dependent nonradiative Landau damping and radiative decay rates are calculated analytically within an ...
