An Exponential Power Life-Testing Distribution
Communications in Statistics - Simulation and Computation, 1975An extreme-value type life-testing distribution is studied which has the property that the hazard function say assume a U-shaped form. Also the hazard function is exponentially increasing on the right. Some general properties of least squares type estimators are discussed for the case of location-scale parameter distributions, and these estimators are ...

The log‐power‐normal distribution is the exponentiated lognormal distribution
Environmetrics, 2014AbstractWe point out that the log‐power‐normal distribution introduced in Martínez‐Flórez, Bolfarine and Gómez [Environmetrics, 25, 2014, 44‐56] is the exponentiated lognormal distribution known since 2006. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Robustness via a mixture of exponential power distributions
Computational Statistics & Data Analysis, 2003A mixture of exponential power distributions (EPD) is suggested and is shown to possess robust qualities. The Gibbs sampler is applied for estimating the unknown parameters of the model and its algorithm is devised in order to allow a wide range of prior distributions for the unknown parameters. Numerical studies, using real financial data, demonstrate

Multivariate Exponential Power Distributions as Mixtures of Normal Distributions with Bayesian Applications [PDF]
It is shown that a multivariate exponential power distribution is a scale mixture of normal distributions, with respect to a probability distribution function, when its kurtosis parameter belongs to the interval (0,1]. The corresponding mixing probability distribution function is presented.

Conditional Specification with Exponential Power Distributions
Communications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 2010The problem of modeling Bayesian networks with continuous nodes deals with discrete approximations and conditional linear Gaussian models. In this article we have considered the possibility of using the exponential power family as conditional probability densities.

Statistical procedures for the exponential power distribution
Microelectronics Reliability, 1989Abstract The exponential power distribution is an extreme-value type model which can assume a bathtub-shaped hazard function. It is useful in modeling the lifetimes of a wide variety of electronic as well as certain mechanical components. Statistical procedures for the exponential power distribution, including maximum likelihood estimators, least ...
