The Bombieri–Vinogradov theorem for exponential sums over primes [PDF]

open access: yesNotes on Number Theory and Discrete Mathematics
In this paper, we revisit Lemma 18 from [2], which concerns a Bombieri–Vinogradov type theorem for exponential sums over primes. We provide a corrected version of the lemma, clarify the original arguments, and address certain inaccuracies present in the ...

Developing evidence‐based, cost‐effective P4 cancer medicine for driving innovation in prevention, therapeutics, patient care and reducing healthcare inequalities

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The cancer problem is increasing globally with projections up to the year 2050 showing unfavourable outcomes in terms of incidence and cancer‐related deaths. The main challenges are prevention, improved therapeutics resulting in increased cure rates and enhanced health‐related quality of life.

SINGULAR POINTS FOR THE SUM OF A SERIES OF EXPONENTIAL MONOMIALS

open access: yesПроблемы анализа, 2018
A problem of distribution of singular points for sums of series of exponential monomials on the boundary of its convergence domain is studied. The influence of a multiple sequence Λ = {λk, nk}_(∞;k=1) of the series in the presence of singular points on ...

Factorizing the time evolution operator

open access: yes, 2006
There is a widespread belief in the quantum physical community, and in textbooks used to teach Quantum Mechanics, that it is a difficult task to apply the time evolution operator Exp{-itH/h} on an initial wave function.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Optimal ambiguity functions and Weil's exponential sum bound

open access: yes, 2011
Complex-valued periodic sequences, u, constructed by Goran Bjorck, are analyzed with regard to the behavior of their discrete periodic narrow-band ambiguity functions A_p(u).

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

A note on two-term exponential sum and the reciprocal of the quartic Gauss sums

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2021
The main purpose of this article is by using the properties of the fourth character modulo a prime p and the analytic methods to study the calculating problem of a certain hybrid power mean involving the two-term exponential sums and the reciprocal of ...

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Resonance between the Representation Function and Exponential Functions over Arithemetic Progression

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, 2021
Let rn denote the number of representations of a positive integer n as a sum of two squares, i.e., n=x12+x22, where x1 and x2 are integers. We study the behavior of the exponential sum twisted by rn over the arithmetic progressions ∑n∼Xn≡lmodqrneαnβ ...
