p53-Induced Gene Expression Analysis
2003Researchers in the p53 field have successfully used many high-throughput screening technologies to analyze and characterize p53-induced gene expression. This chapter will focus on one such technology, the Affymetrix GeneChip. DNA-Chip technology has grown rapidly over the last several years.

In this chapter we will overview the main points of gene expression analyses. We will illustrate using Affymetrix gene expression arrays and Illumina RNA-seq reads, but most of the underlying concepts port well to other platforms. Various preprocessing quality control metrics are discussed as well as how to evaluate the quality of the data.
