On Convergence of the Linear Extended State Observer

IEEE International Symposium on Intelligent Control, 2006
Motivated by the gap between theory and practice in control problems, Linear Active Disturbance Rejection Control (LADRC) addresses a set of control problems in the absence of precise mathematical models. LADRC depends on the quick convergence of a unique state observer, known as the extended state observer, proposed by Han.

Extended State Observer for Nuclear Reactors

2018 Annual American Control Conference (ACC), 2018
An extended state observer (ESO) for nuclear fission reactors is proposed in this paper, which is suitable for reactor monitoring. This ESO is proposed in the natural coordinates of a fission reactor, and can provide globally bounded estimation for the nuclear reactor state-variables and the disturbances induced by the external reactivity and secondary

Fuzzy extended state observer for the fault detection and identification

ISA Transactions, 2022
This paper introduces a novel methodology to detect and identify faults for a class of autonomous nonlinear systems. In the proposed design, a fuzzy extended system observer (FESO) based on the Mandami-type fuzzy system is used to estimate the fault that is considered to be the extended system state.

Disturbance observers and extended state observers for marine vehicles: A survey

Control Engineering Practice, 2022
The operation performance of marine vehicles (MVs) is significantly vulnerable to external disturbances induced by wind, waves, and ocean currents in complex marine environments. Disturbance estimation is a fundamental issue in MV motion control, and various disturbance estimation methods are explored for high-performance motion control of MVs.

Capabilities of extended state observer for estimating uncertainties

2009 American Control Conference, 2009
The capabilities of extended state observer (ESO) for estimating uncertainties is discussed in this paper. The scope of the disturbances that can be observed by LESO with bounded observing errors is given. The observing errors for several typical disturbances-constant disturbance, sine disturbance, ramp disturbance, and square wave disturbance are ...

Discrete implementation and generalization of the extended state observer

2006 American Control Conference, 2006
A brief review of developments in disturbance observers, leading up to the extended state observer (ESO), is first presented. Various digital implementations of the ESO are investigated and compared. The realization in current discrete estimator form evidently helps to maintain stable operation at low sampling rates.

Optimal fast tracking observer bandwidth of the linear extended state observer

International Journal of Control, 2007
In current industrial control applications, the proportional + integral + derivative (PID) control is still used as the leading tool, but constructing controller requires precise mathematical model of plant, and tuning the parameters of controllers is not simple to implement.

Extended differential geometric guidance law with extended state observer

2017 8th International Conference on Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (ICMAE), 2017
No restrictions are imposed on the motion states of missile and target and the line of sight rotation coordinate system is introduced into the derivation of differential geometric guidance law. Then, the extended differential geometric guidance law is achieved whose scope of application is largely extended.
