Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

Extensive reading in primary school EFL
Reading in the English subject in both primary and secondary school often involves studying course book texts in detail. Therefore, pupils are rarely exposed to longer texts which require reading for meaning, a skill needed in higher education and ...

INVESTING IN ACADEMIC SPEAKING THROUGH GUIDED EXTENSIVE READING A CASE STUDY IN EXTENSIVE READING CLASS AT ENGLISH DEPARTMENT MATARAM UNIVERSITY INDONESIA [PDF]
One principle of Extensive Reading (ER) as Day and Bamford (2002) have pointed out is that ER should be oriented to help students to be self-motivated readers by giving them freedom to choose reading materials that interest them.

Extensive translation of small Open Reading Frames revealed by Poly-Ribo-Seq [PDF]
Thousands of small Open Reading Frames (smORFs) with the potential to encode small peptides of fewer than 100 amino acids exist in our genomes. However, the number of smORFs actually translated, and their molecular and functional roles are still unclear.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

β‐TrCP overexpression enhances cisplatin sensitivity by depleting BRCA1
Low levels of β‐TrCP (Panel A) allow the accumulation of BRCA1 and CtIP, which facilitate the repair of cisplatin‐induced DNA damage via homologous recombination (HR) and promote tumor cell survival. In contrast, high β‐TrCP expression (Panel B) leads to BRCA1 and CtIP degradation, impairing HR repair, resulting in persistent DNA damage and apoptosis ...
