Results 71 to 80 of about 948,700 (330)
We reviewed the local current status and summarized the suspected causes of rarity, and presumed major threats to the 84 rarest bird speciesin the state of Rio de Janeiro, southeastern Brazil.

Optimal extinction measurements [PDF]
In this paper we present XNICER, an optimized multi-band extinction technique based on the extreme deconvolution of the intrinsic colors of objects observed through a molecular cloud. XNICER follows a rigorous statistical approach and provides the full Bayesian inference of the extinction for each observed object.

Re-evaluating the general dynamic theory of oceanic island biogeography
The general dynamic model of oceanic island biogeography integrates temporal changes in ecological circumstances with diversification processes, and has stimulated current research in island biogeography.

Mathematical Modelling and Analysis of Stochastic COVID-19 and Hepatitis B Co-Infection Dynamics
The recent resurgence of COVID-19 in a Hepatitis B virus some endemic countries could lead to adverse outcomes. In this article, we formulate and analyse a mathematical model to explains the co-infection dynamics of Hepatitis B virus and COVID-19.

UV Extinction Towards a Quiescent Molecular Cloud in the SMC
Context: The mean UV extinction law for the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC) is usually taken as a template for low-metallicity galaxies. However, its current derivation is based on only five stars, thus placing doubts on its universality. An increase in the

Low-extinction windows in the inner Galactic Bulge [PDF]
We built K band extinction maps in the area of two candidate low-extinction windows in the inner Bulge: W0.2-2.1 at (l,b) = (0.25o,-2.15o), and W359.4-3.1 at (l,b) = (359.40o,-3.10o).

Defect Analysis of the β– to γ–Ga2O3 Phase Transition
The role of defects at all the relevant stages of the β$\beta$‐ to γ$\gamma$‐Ga2O3 polymorph transition is investigated using a multi method approach. The positron annihilation spectroscopy based results show that the defect density decreases after the transition, and that changes in defect configuration within the γ phase occur with increasing ...
