The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Extracellular enzyme activity in the Arctic Northeast Water polynya
We studied extracellular enzyme activity (EEA) in samples of the water column and sediments of the Northeast Water polynya (77" to 81" N, 6" to 17' W) during July-August 1992 in order to determine controls on bacterial hydrolytic activity and possible roles of EEA in the fates of particulate organic matter (POM) on an arctic continental shelf.

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Weakening the nuclear envelope: Lamin B receptor in melanoma metastasis
LBR‐driven nuclear fragility supports melanoma invasion. A: Melanocyte presents low LBR (Lamin B Receptor) levels, maintaining nuclear integrity and lamina‐chromatin tethering. B: During malignant progression, upregulation of LBR clusters at the INM (Inner Nuclear Membrane) during confined migration causes local lamina weakening and cholesterol ...

Decoupling enzyme catalysis from thermal denaturation
The equilibrium model (EM) (Daniel et al., 2001) postulates two forms of a folded enzyme, one catalytically active (Eact) and the other inactive (Einact), which interconvert via a fast thermal equilibrium (Keq) (Figure A). This model for enzyme catalysis

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Extracellular proteolytic enzyme activity in sediments of an intertidal mudflat [PDF]
Extracellular proteolytic activity (EPA) on an intertidal mudflat was examined over a 2‐yr period, with focus on characteristics of enzyme systems and the controlling influences on enzyme activity levels. EPA was primarily associated with the particulate rather than the pore‐water phase.

We first identified functional murine mitochondrial N‐formyl peptides (MT‐FPs) and investigated their effects on the in vitro myeloid‐derived suppressor cell (MDSC) generation from bone marrow cells. We demonstrated that MT‐FPs acted directly on bone marrow cells to promote MDSC generation and modulated the polymorphonuclear (PMN)‐MDSC/monocyte (M ...
