Obstacles and opportunities in the functional analysis of extracellular vesicle RNA - An ISEV position paper [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
© 2017 The Author(s). The release of RNA-containing extracellular vesicles (EV) into the extracellular milieu has been demonstrated in a multitude of different in vitro cell systems and in a variety of body fluids.

A new flow chip in combination with multiphoton microscopy as a protocol for longitudinal 3D imaging of tissue calcification under shear stress

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Miniaturized flow chip platform enabling continuous perfusion and longitudinal multiphoton 3D imaging of vascular smooth muscle cell constructs under physiological flow. Brightfield imaging guides region selection, while CellTracker Green and mRuby‐labeled fetuin‐A visualize cells and mineral deposition, respectively. Magnesium supplementation markedly

Dual-Layer Spectral Detector Computed Tomography Quantitative Parameters: A Potential Tool for Lymph Node Activity Determination in Lymphoma Patients

open access: yesDiagnostics
Dual-energy CT has shown promising results in determining tumor characteristics and treatment effectiveness through spectral data by assessing normalized iodine concentration (nIC), normalized effective atomic number (nZeff), normalized electron density (

Dose‐dependent hepatotoxicity of hydrogen peroxide in HepG2 cells and its modulation by CYP450 induction

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
NMR metabolomics revealed concentration‐dependent metabolic perturbations in HepG2 cells exposed to H2O2. Rifampicin pretreatment enhanced metabolic competence, attenuated toxin‐induced alterations and produced metabolite profiles more consistent with human liver physiology, supporting the use of CYP450‐induced HepG2 models for improved in vitro ...

Effects of extracellular calcium on normal human bone cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
P(論文)It has been demonstrated that elevated extracellular calcium can inhibit the formation of osteoclast-like cells and stimulate osteoblastic proliferation, indicating that extracellular calcium is very important for the process of bone remodeling. The

KDAC6 alters cell morphology and motility through positive and negative modulation of F‐actin distribution

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
KDAC6 has been associated with cell motility and actin structures, but specific domain contributions are not established. The two catalytic domains have differential effects on motility and F‐actin regulation, affecting cortical F‐actin density, motility, stress fibers, and cell spreading.

Accurate and noninvasive prostate cancer detection using plasma‐derived extracellular vesicle RNA

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Plasma extracellular vesicles were captured with WGA‐conjugated magnetic beads and profiled for RNA biomarkers. A three‐RNA panel (NM_024955, NR_047469, and NR_002564) distinguished prostate cancer from healthy controls and benign prostatic hyperplasia, supporting a simple, noninvasive approach to improve prostate cancer detection.

Excellent Reproducibility of Synthetic Extracellular Volume Without Blood Extraction Across Different Cardiomyopathies Using Published Regression Models

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Development and Disease
T1 mapping and extracellular volume (ECV) calculations in cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) have the potential to identify early fibrosis that is not yet visible using late gadolinium enhancement; however, the need for same-day blood draws due to the ...
