Open-pit block sequencing optimization: A mathematical model and solution technique

open access: yes, 2016
This study presents a comprehensive mathematical formulation model for a short-term open-pit mine\ud block sequencing problem, which considers nearly all relevant technical aspects in open-pit mining.\ud The proposed model aims to obtain the optimum ...

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Biodiesel Production from Oils Extracted from Date Pits

open access: yesGreen and Sustainable Chemistry, 2017
Biodiesel production had received a considerable attention as a green, non-toxic and renewable alternative to petroleum diesel. To avoid using vegetable oils, which are expensive and compete with food, as feedstock, waste oils have been proposed. However, these waste materials contain a large amount of free fatty acids that complicates the production ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

The hydrogeological significance of lithostatic unloading and geomechanical response to mineral extraction at open pit workings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
This thesis presents a study into the effect of rock mass stress change, resulting from open pit mineral extraction, on the hydrogeological characteristics of the host rock, with particular focus on hydraulic conductivity change in fracture-dominated ...

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

La fouille de fosses polylobées de l’Âge du Bronze final à Lesmont (Aube, Grand-Est) : résultats et retours méthodologiques

open access: yesRevue Archéologique de l’Est, 2021
The excavation conducted at the building site of a school in Lesmont (Aube, Grand-Est) revealed, among other features, an occupation dated to the Final Bronze Age. The site includes a small building on posts, a silo, a few peripheral structures, and five

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Recultivation of the cavity of the closed open pit Bor [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Sciences (Belgrade), 2008
Copper ore is one of the most important raw materials for industrial production. Increasing demands have been increasing its extraction generally. Shallow deposits with higher copper grade are mostly exhausted and the open pits become deeper, also the ...
