Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.

Understanding the feasibility of pit lakes for tailings disposal and CO2 sequestration
The pit lakes and tailings are one of major source of acid mine drainage (AMD) and metal contamination in the mining landscapes. The dissolution of metals from pit lakes in the close proximity to aquifers contaminate groundwater in the downstream.
