Gravitational Lens Systems to probe Extragalactic Magnetic Fields
The Faraday rotation measurements of multiply-imaged gravitational lens systems can be effectively used to probe the existence of large-scale ordered magnetic fields in lensing galaxies and galaxy clusters. The available sample of lens systems appears to suggest the presence of a coherent large-scale magnetic field in giant elliptical galaxies somewhat

Constraints on the extragalactic magnetic fields from the NVSS Faraday rotation measures
We use rotation measures data from the NVSS catalogue to derive new, statistically robust, upper limits on the strength of extragalactic magnetic fields.

Time Evolution of Primordial Magnetic Fields and Present Day Extragalactic Magnetism
The topic of the present thesis is the time evolution of Primordial Magnetic Fields which have been generated in the Early Universe. Assuming this so-called Cosmological Scenario of magnetogenesis to be true, it is shown in the following that this would ...

We review current ideas on the origin of galactic and extragalactic magnetic fields. We begin by summarizing observations of magnetic fields at cosmological redshifts and on cosmological scales.

Conversion of TeV photons in realistic extragalactic magnetic field
Very High Energy (TeV) photons can evade absorption by conversion into axion-like (ALPs) particles in the extragalactic magnetic field (EMF). We show that using realistic simulations of the EMF we obtain an even stronger conversion than those obtained with the simplified cell model.

Large scale magnetic fields of our Galaxy
Large-scale magnetic fields in the Galactic disk have been revealed by distributions of pulsar rotation measures (RMs) and Zeeman splitting data of masers in star formation regions, which have several reversals in arm and interarm regions.

The structure of magnetic fields in galaxies remains poorly constrained, despite the importance of magnetism in the evolution of galaxies. Radio synchrotron and far-infrared (FIR) polarization and polarimetric observations are the best methods to measure

CHANG-ES. XXXV. Cosmic Ray Transport and Magnetic Field Structure of NGC 3556 at 3 GHz
Radio halos of edge-on galaxies are crucial for investigating cosmic ray propagation and magnetic field structures in galactic environments. We present VLA C-configuration S -band (2–4 GHz) observations of the spiral galaxy NGC 3556, a target from the ...
