Proportion of Microbiologically Confirmed Extrapulmonary Tuberculosis among Pathologically diagnosed Extrapulmonary Tuberculosis

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Lung Health
Context: Current National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP) guidelines recommends culture/CBNAAT/molecular test/histopathology examination and drug sensitivity testing for all patients with presumptive Extrapulmonary TB (EPTB).

Comparative 3‐Year Allograft Outcomes for Recipients of Kidneys From SARS‐CoV‐2 NAT‐Positive Donors

open access: yesTransplant Infectious Disease, EarlyView.
In this retrospective single‐center study of 220 kidney transplants from SARS‐CoV‐2 NAT+, NAT+ with COVID as cause of death (CoV‐COD) and NATneg donors, we found no significant difference in rejection or kidney pathologies at 1 year, and death, graft loss, or eGFR at 3 years by CoV‐donor status.

Human placental exposure to pollutant nanoparticles: uptake, translocation and functional impact

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Prenatal exposure to pollutant nanoparticles has been increasingly investigated due to concerns about their potential effects on placental function and pregnancy outcomes. Maternal inhalation of pollutant nanoparticles can result in a pro‐inflammatory response; particles can also translocate across the alveolus epithelial barrier

Black race, sex, and extrapulmonary tuberculosis risk: an observational study

open access: yes, 2010
Background Extrapulmonary tuberculosis is likely a marker of underlying immune compromise. Our objective was to determine race and sex differences in extrapulmonary tuberculosis risk in order to identify the optimal population in which to assess for host

A Review of Breath Sensing for Disease Monitoring and Diagnosis: Breathomics, Artificial Intelligence, and Nanomaterials for the Future of Medicine

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, Volume 5, Issue 7, July 2026.
Breathomics is established as a non‐invasive diagnostic strategy by combining volatile organic compound biomarkers, nanomaterial‐based sensor arrays, and AI‐driven classification. Key diseases, sensing materials, and analytical challenges are critically compared, revealing how portable, data‐enabled breath platforms are moving toward clinically useful ...
