Atypical extraventricular neurocytoma
Pathology International, 2006Extraventricular neurocytoma (EVN) is a rare brain tumor that poses diagnostic difficulty. Described herein is a case of atypical EVN arising in a 54‐year‐old woman. A well‐circumscribed lesion (3.0 × 3.0 × 3.0 cm) in the right parietal lobe showed diffuse proliferation of monotonous tumor cells with perinuclear clearing within a delicate fibrillary ...

A clinicopathologic study of extraventricular neurocytoma
Journal of Neuro-Oncology, 2016In 2007, extraventricular neurocytoma was classified as a separate entity among glioneuronal tumors. However, extraventricular neurocytoma is not fully understood and may be misdiagnosed. Here, we describe the clinical and pathological features, prognoses, and treatments of 13 extraventricular neurocytoma cases, and compare their immunophenotypes with ...

Progression of atypical extraventricular neurocytoma to anaplastic ganglioglioma
Human Pathology, 2017We report a childhood case of thalamic atypical extraventricular neurocytoma that progressed to highly anaplastic ganglioglioma after 8 years of dormancy after subtotal resection and chemotherapy. The neurocytoma displayed immunoreactivity only for synaptophysin, β-catenin, S100, and CD56.

Extraventricular neurocytoma of the vermis in a child
Journal of Clinical Neuroscience, 2010Neurocytomas are rare neoplasms, composed of uniform round cells with neuronal differentiation. We report a rare extraventricular neurocytoma (EVN) in a 5-year-old boy who presented with headache and vomiting. His MRI brain showed a vermian mass. The histopathological examination and immunohistochemistry revealed it to be an EVN. We report this patient
